5 out of 5 stars Great - but don't let your competitive six year old lose!   December 18, 2007

My daughter received this as a gift for her sixth birthday. As her sister is only one, we have only played twice (as we can only play when sister is sleeping) and although it is very enjoyable, I suggest you grin and bear it as the game can go on quite long and do not try and win to get it over quickly, as I am still labelled a 'cheater'. This game is educational, not too boring for the playing adult but can go on for a loooongish time.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent version for children   October 29, 2007

We've been using this to teach our children about money and budgets. It's been very successful and the children enjoy the game greatly. We find that we have to put a time limit on games as they can last a couple of hours if no-one goes bust sooner!

Small denominations are good for younger children to count. The simplified rules are also a great help but it's enough like the full version not to be too boring for the adult banker!

Highly recommended for the very cheap price!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for children.   November 4, 2006

A simplified version of Monopoly. The game is much better for children than adult Monopoly: there is virtually no strategy and so who wins varies with each game played. The money is better for children: coming in denominations of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The game is excellent at teaching children how to count and a game only lasts about 20 minutes. Excellent!

4 out of 5 stars I hate Monopoly but...   February 4, 2006

This is an excellent children's game.

One die.
Bank notes from one to five quid.
Games usually last only about ten minutes.

A fun way of getting a (about) five year old to practise their counting.

My only gripe is that it could make a child want to play the real Monopoly when they grow up. The fools.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant for kids   October 25, 2005

Our three children received this as a present one year ago. The 5 year old played with it daily for a month and even now it still has a regular outing, and although the 12 year old would prefer the adult version, she's still happy to play. Educationally its good for easy counting. There are only 1,2,3,4 and 5 and the cost of the property is the same as the rent, until you get both of the same colour and then its doubled. At first our 5 year old used to find it a bit tricky to work out which notes to hand over, or how much change to give, but he soon got the hang of the maths. All the property is based on fairground rides and attractions, and is brightly coloured. Excellent
