1 out of 5 stars Charging in standby   August 26, 2008

Please note the manual states for this charger to charge whilst the wii is in standby mode you must have the `wii connect 24' and `standby' modes enabled.

I have purchased one of these and although I think it looks great I am very worried about the damage occurring to the wii remotes after using this product so I think I will be sending it back as I don't think it is worth the risk. There are a lot of other products out there that do the same thing.

This is a good idea but normally if you leave it for more then 2 hours the controller doesn't work. I do not reccomend this item

4 out of 5 stars Great item, some bad reviews are unfounded and inaccurate   July 29, 2008

This item works a treat, I've read the other bad reviews and would like to clarify some points.

1) The 2nd charger does work properly
2) The charger does work on the Wii standby mode. Just switch the Wii on, then put it into standby and the charger stays on. It works when the USB power supply from the Wii is powered up.
3) Battery life depends on what batteries you buy for it. If you buy bad batteries, don't blame the charger.

The unit looks fantastic with its blue glow and neatly stores the Wii as well as the remotes. Nice and tidy.

The only reason it loses a star is because even with the latest AAA rechargeable batteries you can't play this all evening without needing to put the chargers back in the base. AA batteries would be a better option but the design would not allow this.

Remeber to get some AAA rechargeable batteries when you buy the item, and try to get 1000maH or more.

This stand is great it keeps my remotes safely stored and the blue light looks cool, only problem is that i have to leave the wii switched on for the remotes to be charged. If anyone knows a way around this please let me know.

4 out of 5 stars Idiots should read the manual   April 14, 2008

works fine in standby. wii has to be internet connected for this amber mode i believe. not to difficult for anyone with a wireless internet connection at home.

ive read people saying the rear charge slot doesnt work. they are idiots. there is a switch on the back of the wii that selects between the rear charger slot and the rear battery compartment. only one of the 2 rear chargers will work at once.
